Prince of Peace POP DUSTERS 2016 Robotics Team

It’s been a great – very long – 9 weeks at the POP Robotics team meetings. Beginning in August, robotics team members (5 returning from last year, appearing in grey shirts above) joined together after school each day to create a winning combination of home-made robot, marketing presentation, marketing information booth, engineering notebook, and spirit and sportsmanship campaign, which amounted to a Third Place victory at the BEST Robotics competition at Shelton State in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

The win is significant because it’s the first time in the team’s seven years it has advanced to the finals. The championship is held at Auburn University, Auburn Alabama, where  55 schools from Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Mississippi, and Tennessee compete to win the coveted South’s BEST Award in Robotics and Engineering. The three-day event will be an amazing experience for these talented 6th through 8th grade students.
