Why Tech? Using Disruptive Innovation with Foreign Language Courses

It’s true that some classes are better taught by a live teacher and manipulatives. In other cases, using technology is a better choice. Currently I am testing the waters with a real project that will determine and possibly change how students are introduced to foreign languages in my school. This is currently only an idea, but with sound research and good reasons, using online language curriculum with the help of a teacher/coach may prove to be a better method of delivery at the middle school level.

My goal is to identify a method for maximizing students’ interest and enjoyment of learning a foreign language that will also maximize their basic knowledge of the language and associated culture.
